Metaverse as a Service

New digital 3D environments

Metaverse: Short-lived hype or must-have?

We explain

Play along or wait, and see? When it comes to the metaverse, this is one of the crucial questions that many of our clients are concerned about. For us experts, it’s important to play with the metaverse topic and sift through the hype behind it. We want to explain: What is the metaverse? What do you need for it? Do our clients need to get into the metaverse? And if so, what is the roadmap to get there?

We have long recognized the trend

Well prepared

Why are we dealing with this topic? At MaibornWolff, we combine the different disciplines it takes to build an immersive experience like the metaverse: From experts in 3D design, creating complete VR worlds and designing interactions, to cloud specialists and experts in AI.
We are able to integrate a metaverse experience into an existing system or build a metaverse ourselves away from third-party vendors.

An opportunity for perfectly designed 3D experience worlds

What is the Metaverse?

There is no ONE metaverse. There are a number of companies offering experiences where people can enter such experiential worlds via their browser, cell phone or VR goggles. However, the metaverse as an official entity does not exist. For us at MaibornWolff, the metaverse is an opportunity to make new digital 3D experiences even better.

Easy entry via app or browser

The way into the Metaverse

It is already possible to immerse yourself in the 3D world with an app. You don’t even have to have VR goggles. Clients who don’t want to take a full risk right away can start with an app today and test whether their own users are even interested in a 3D experience. This can be done very easily in the existing client environment with an app or browser and is in many cases the recommended entry into “the Metaverse”

We start with three building blocks:

Information

We deliver information: What’s out there? What platforms are there? What does the tech stack look like?

Understanding

We create understanding: What is the point of it all? What opportunities does the metaverse provide for our clients and for their end users? Where are the limits today and what is still vision?

Meaning

We ask the question of meaning: Is there a meaningful use case or business case? Do you want to build a community or attract new clients? Which device is the right one? VR glasses, app or maybe something else entirely?

Our workshop format helps with decision-making

Envisioning workshop

To help our clients decide if and how they want to embark on the journey “into the metaverse”, we have developed our own workshop format: the Metaverse Envisioning Workshop. Here we advise them from the very first step, for example through hands-on sessions with various devices. So, they can immerse themselves in the 3D world in the app or through VR to get an impression of it: How does that feel to me and what does that potentially mean to my clients?

In the workshop we will find out what is a lightweight use case that we can build quickly. In this way, we test whether this works well in their environment and is therefore useful. And of course, we guide our clients through their journey that can start with this prototype – from end-user testing and further development to a metaverse experience that can be rolled out.
