Comprehensive renewal of the website

Lechwerke supplies around one million people with energy and telecommunications solutions in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. This makes Lechwerke AG, which is part of the E.ON Group, one of the leading regional energy service providers in southern Germany.

In order to further develop its brands LEW, ÜWK and LVN digitally, all websites and web portals were to be comprehensively renewed - technically, conceptually and in terms of design.

    A digital platform for an improved user experience

    Together, we developed a digital platform that meets market requirements and user expectations.
    The focus was on a clear, consistent design, significantly improved user guidance and the intelligent consolidation of several hundred content pages.

    Particular attention was paid to sharpening the digital brand presence, switching to future-proof technologies and a noticeably improved user experience across all contact points.

    Relaunch: From the initial idea to going live

    MaibornWolff implemented the relaunch holistically - from the initial idea and workshops with all stakeholders through to going live. With a cross-functional team from UX/UI design, software engineering and QA, we consistently brought together user guidance, design, accessibility and technology.

    Our work included

    • the integration of a new multi-brand design system for the brands

    • the implementation of modern technologies including usability tests

    The cloud platform is based on a headless content management system (Umbraco Cloud) in combination with a high-performance Next.js frontend - an architecture that enables a clean separation of content and presentation, high scalability, accessibility compliance, optimized SEO and omnichannel capability.

    The path to consistent information architecture

    With the decision to combine content from different sources into one structure, LEW has paved the way for a clearer and more accessible information architecture.At the same time, this consolidation placed high demands on structure, design and user guidance: hundreds of pages had to be reorganized, standardized and transferred to a consistent architecture - without sacrificing flexibility or depth of content.

    The choice of a modern technology stack paid off: The architecture used separates content and presentation and enables fast loading times, high scalability and better visibility in search engines.

    In close cooperation with LEW, completely new, revised user flows were created for B2C and B2B as well as a new design system based on Figma, which is seamlessly aligned with the revised corporate design and strengthens the brand digitally - from the overarching information architecture to central functions such as the tariff calculator and the order route.
