MaibornWolff participates in AI reference book

Generative AI and AI agents are currently fundamentally changing how software is developed. At the same time, many companies are faced with the question of how these technologies can be integrated into existing organizations and development processes in a meaningful, secure, and sustainable way.

These are precisely the topics addressed in the new reference book “Generative and Agentic AI for IT Managers” by Wolfgang Keller. The book is aimed at IT-related managers, architects, and project managers who want to understand how generative AI and agent systems can be used in practice in companies—especially in complex or regulated industries.

MaibornWolff is also involved in the book. In a separate chapter, our experts report on their practical experience with AI-supported software engineering.

About the author

Wolfgang Keller works as a freelance interim manager, project manager, and enterprise architect, mostly for large financial services providers. As a result, he is frequently involved in digital transformations and their support in the form of enterprise architecture management. He is also the author of various specialist books and articles.

Practical report from real projects

The chapter “Coding with LLMs and Agents – A Field Report” was written by our colleagues Alexander Hofmann, Dr. Claas Busemann, Dr. Josef Reislhuber, Francesco La Torre, and Tobias Wagner.

In it, they share their experiences from several years of practical work with AI-supported software development. The focus is on the question of how generative AI is actually changing the development process – from AI-assisted coding to the use of AI agents that can independently take on tasks in the development process.

Free chapter excerpt

Read the chapter (in German) “Coding with LLMs and Agents” by our MaibornWolff experts now and gain insights into our experiences with AI-supported software engineering from real-world projects.

In addition, the chapter describes key challenges in the use of AI in real-world projects. These include issues such as code quality, security, cost control, and organizational changes resulting from the use of AI.

“How good is AI at coding?” – Interview with Wolfgang Keller

In this interview, Alexander Hofmann (CTO MaibornWolff) talks to author Wolfgang Keller about the idea behind the book and why guidance on generative AI is needed right now. Together, they discuss how AI-supported software engineering has developed in recent years and what experience MaibornWolff has already gained in projects. They also talk about the opportunities, limitations, and very practical challenges of using LLMs and AI agents in software development. The conversation provides a brief insight into the central themes of the book.

Using AI sensibly and responsibly

There is a particular focus on the infrastructure required for the productive use of AI. The chapter by MaibornWolff also describes the AI Trusted Zone, a protected environment for the use of large language models in software development. This architecture makes it possible to use AI tools in projects while protecting sensitive data and source code.

Wolfgang Keller's book is intended as a guide for IT decision-makers who view generative AI not just as an experiment, but as a strategic tool for the further development of their organization.
